I am a PhD student based in the Centre for Health and Development (CHAD) at Staffordshire University. My research centres around involving experts by experience in exploring experiences of suicide risk assessments. My interests extend across how people experience mental distress and how they communicate those experiences. I am passionate about public involvement in health research and knowledge communication.

I contribute to Cochrane Common Mental Disorders Group as a volunteer. I assisted the set up of the Voice of experience Group with the team based at York University and continue to write blogs informed by their systematic reviews for the website and Students 4 Best Evidence. I also curate the Public Engagement and Research Impact Blog for Staffordshire University.

I am a member of the International Network of Early Career Researchers in Suicide and Self-harm and the British Psychological Society

Previously, I have volunteered as a Peer Support Group Coordinator with Changes Health and Wellbeing in Stoke-on-Trent and also run a six week creative writing for well-being workshop based there called Words for Wellness.
